Guys, we've been part of 2A 09 for coming close to 2 years now. What ever happened to developing the esprit de corps? What happened to solidarity?

It's another 3, maybe 4 weeks till we sit for our SA2, and then we'll go our separate ways, some to different classes, some to different schools. It's important that we spend our last months as a class together and we should really get down to firmly establishing and developing "class spirit" or a sense of belonging.

So reach out to the person beside you in class and give a friendly =)

In Singapore , the majority of us live in Highly Dangerous Buildings (HDB), and most people have already got used to Paying and Paying (PAP).

Not only do you have to pay, you Pay Until Bankrupt ( PUB). ?

If that's not enough, somebody still Purposely Wants to Dig (PWD)and get more from you.

So what more can you do when you are in the Money Only Environment (MOE)?

With the current Mad Accounting System (MAS), you are forced to
Pay the Sum Ahead (PSA),Which will leave some people Permanently Owing Some Banks (POSB).

And forced to live on the Loan Techniques Always (LTA) system.When you fall sick and happen to be admitted to a Money Operating Hospital (MOH),

You might be able to use your Cash Prior to Funeral (CPF)fund.

If you are out of luck, you may meet doctors who Never Use Heart (NUH) to treat you, ? and you will be Sure to Give up Hope (SGH).

To help ease the traffic, motorists have to pay Cash On Expressway (COE)...

If that doesn't help, they can always Eternally Raise Prices (ERP)on the roads.

If you don't own a car, you can always make a Mad Rush to the Train (MRT), OR get squashed in a bus Side By Side (SBS ).

So now for more important information. Please log onto VS portal and complete the form for school reopening on 29th June. It's to confirm your travel plans as maybe some people will change their minds against their earlier travel declaration.

According to school website, if you have returned from any countries affected under the MOH travel guidelines, you are automatically on leave of absence for 7 days. According to other class blogs, there will be E-Learning packages for you.

Don't forget to bring your thermometer. We just need to keep more alert of our health as a class yeah?

Oh and if I'm not wrong, I remember that there was some special instructions for 29th June because of the AYG torch relay. Can someone update the blog with the instructions. This admin wasn't around at the time. :(

Oh yeah, for those of you who haven't submitted your health booklets please do so by school reopening.

Due to the International Friendship Day celebrations on 17 April(Friday), there are some changes in the lessons on Monday.

For us, the first two periods are for geography, while the next two goes to Maths. The rest of the day will be of the normal timetable. Recess, followed by two periods of science and mother tongue, and finally PE-T.

There is a March holiday homework for Science. It is actually only a revision which you are required to do.
These are the instructions:

1. Go to the VS Website and log into the school's LMS system. (For those who cannot log in, I don't know if you have to do this)
2. Click on 'SCI(S/E)'.
3. Find 'Smartclass Contents' and click it.
4. On the contents, click 'Science' at the Sec 2 section.
5. Click whatever topic is shown on the pop-up.
6. Click on 'Models and Systems'.
7. Then click on one of the topics stated below to start revising.

Topics: Movement of Substances Into and Out of Cells, Transport in Livin Things, Sexual Reproduction in Human Beings, Issues on Sex.

You may explore the other topics.

Mother Tongue(HCL only): We just rehearsed for the Chinese Drama.

Science: Sec 1 Revision WS(Chemical Formulae)- Completed everything until Pg.4

Notice:
1. The CE project is due on 23 March(first day of school). The CE presentations will be held on 23 March and 30 March.
2. The Geography proposal and transcript are due on the first week of school.

For Science, there MIGHT be make-up lesson. I'm not very sure if you have to do the parts of the worksheet that we have done in class. For the rest of the subjects today, you should not have missed anything.

Congratulations to the THREE BUSKATEERS for being the CHAMPIONS of the inaugural Science Buskers Festival! They have won S$1000 and a 1-year renewable contract to perform of need basis(with remunerations)! Also, they have won S$150 for 'Best Stage Presence'.

As for the PYRO-CYRO, they might not have gotten the top three, but at least they got the 'Best Dressed Award' as they were the only team wearing colourful costumes. They failed in two of their experiments, but their overall performance was fantastic!

You seriously have wasted your morning if you never came for the finals yesterday. There were only five of us. What's wrong with the rest of you?

We were supposedly the ones voting for the teams, however the Sec 1s(obviously did not know the teams) were sent for voting, while we were left with the PSLs to support.

Despite this, the Three Buskateers had their family members, so they had an audience vote of up to 105! They were also the only team with two full 10 points from the five judges, thus emerging victorious.

At the end of the event, all the Victorians present did the 'VS Unite' on the stage, receiving everyone's attention. Once again, congrats to the Three Buskateers!

Science Busker results...

Hey all... Hi again... Wazzup its me pandiyan again... So today i went to science buskers and it really went great...

You wasted 24 hours of your live if you didnt see tristen or joe group do their science thingy and you wasted the 24 hours of your trip to science centre if you didnt vote for them.... They really were awesome

JJ's group started earlier and we managed to get 40+votes and at the afternoon , another staggering 79 votes which is way higher than yesterday when they only got 6 in the whole day... And you want to know the answer WHY? I will try to say this in the most unbraggish manner as possible. "Due to the skills of P S Pandiyan with perfect talent in drawing people to the booth and voting 3 votes... They got that... + I motivated them like mad with words of encouragement such as "You can do it." A bit exaggerated but its halfway true. And Tristen's group came in the afternoon and theirs was very interesting. Perhaps you are wondering what they did...

Joejyn group is something about king of science so they quarrel over who king of science... So they do this beer and bottle trick where they put a $2 note in the middle of two bottles... And then they pull it out quickly to reduce friction or some crap so it doesnt fall... Let me explain with my genius brain... This is related to newtons law that says that things in motion stay in motion and that things still stay still. But sadly, JJ failed the trick during the performance after 3 times.

First time:
"CBW: AHA! You lose!"
"JJ: Let me try again and i will surely do it..."

Second time
"JJ fails again..."
"CBW covers up by saying: I give you one last chance..."

3rd time:
"JJ fails again"
"CBW and JP cover up again but then cbw say "So what is supposed to happen" and then yea all normal crap again... Not interesting when i say it so pardon me... But i accidentally broke one of their beer bottles and lucky they had a spare or they would kill me... So... It ended off with JP being king of science when JJ was supposed to be... A twist in the story but its really good cover up... I just wish i could show you... Anyways,

Tristen group did something about air cannons... You know those in science centre. YOu whack it and air is released to move the thing air directed to... They did it to a stack of cups and it was cool how they toppled over...

And they did some flaming alcohol thing and put a dry ice in the middle of some dye solution but i couldn't really understand very well... It was really interesting cause the fire wass burning the whole thing...

And sadly, NUS brought their whole class there and voted and the moment that was done, they went home... ANd they winning cause of ythat... No fair rite... SO come vote your votes count so better come... But i guess its too late now

Now who could that be? ok lol actually who cares about that but anywayz, tmrw is joe and bok and jp and tristy and lie wen and i think got one more i forgot alreadi busker so we nid SUPPORTERS really important cos the other buskers brought their whole class but they may be bad. Believe me i see some science busker doing bubble machine like put soap and put water then blow and never explain properly but if they got lots of supporter then no point de they win... We (me and 2 other friends) are participating the Singapore’s first ever Science Busking! What is it? It is like your traditional busking performance that you see so often along Orchard road where people perform their talents and skills. In this case, we will be doing similar performance, but all in the name of Science. Yes, we will do tricks, demonstrations, presentations and all the fun things that many of us would never know that there is some science logic behind it all. You will be amazed at what you can learn and discover. Unleash your imagination and find out the fanastic wonders of science in the most fun and easy way.

Please come and support us as we, “The Three Busketeers” marvel all of you with simple science. It is really fun and exciting because you will get to experience first hand, the experiements. After seeing, you can do this with your friends and families back home.

We, “The Three Busketeers” will be there at the Science Center from 9 Jan to 11 Jan 2009 (Friday to Sunday) 10 am to 4pm. And another best part is that you can enter into the Science Center free after watching us. We are located at the Annex Building of Science Centre, so please come in from here to enjoy the free entry.

Oh, yes. One more thing. Each of you will be given two ping pong balls as points that you would award to the buskers. The more ping pong balls we have, the better our chances of wining. So, plesae support us and award us these two ping pong balls ya!
